Underlying Application Development Framework - Development and Configuration Toolscm3 offers quick deployment, rapid creation of complex content driven applications, and easy development without the need to design databases or write application code. Yet the customisation and extensibility options options are virtually limitless. One of the core aspects of cm3's power is its support for developers to be able to create complex content driven applications quickly and easily. In addition to the macro language scripting facilities that allow direct access for developers to cm3's publishing and security systems, a range of extra features are available to make complex but regularly needed tasks extremely simple - things such as "email this page to a friend", content searches, print ready page templates, and a range of navigation tools. The structure of different kinds of content can be created "on the fly" within cm3's web interface. This control over what we refer to as "content types" allows developers to manage many different kinds of data within a single application or website. Dynamic "flags" can be set extremely easily, for instance to allow important items of content to be flagged to appear on the front page of a website or included in an email newsletter. Relationship fields can be created between different items of content, for instance for creating relational applications such as customer relationship management systems. All types of content can include an integrated "related links" system, direct attachment of documents or files (e.g. such as PDF or MS Word files), and other extended features are being added regularly.
