Introduction
cm3 Professional is aimed at owners and developers of dynamic business websites that demand powerful content management for a smaller number of content editors and less detailed user personalisation requirements.
An advanced CMS without an advanced price tag
|
At its heart, cm3 Professional is the same product as cm3 Enterprise. It provides all of the core features that come with every version of cm3. You are supplied with a different web based administrative interface (in which some functions have been disabled or limited), but the core components of the software are exactly the same.
Use of Features
The following list outlines the functionality constraints of cm3 Professional as compared to cm3 Enterprise.
- The secure file/document management system is not included. (However downloadable files on your website can be managed by other means.)
- The number of named CMS users in the management console (i.e. editors or administrators) is restricted to five, with a maximum of two concurrent users.
- The number of permission levels is restricted to the three default groups provided with the system - Administrators, Everyone, and All Authenticated Users. (This restricts what levels of access you can manage in your website and administrative system. It also restricts much of the use of the one-to-one personalisation functions of cm3.)
- The number of mailing lists is restricted to one.
- A maximum of ten different "content types" in your site.
- Maximum of twenty five shared template elements.
- Maximum of two separate form events for your published website.
- The import / export module is not provided.
- LDAP / Active Directory authentication option is not provided.
- Extended user type options (for advanced personalisation) are not provided.
- Backup / restore instances restricted to one stored backup at any time.
- Many of the extended modules available in the Internet Module Pack are not compatible with the licensing restrictions of cm3 Professional. Therefore the Internet Module Pack is not available.
Licensing Options
cm3 Professional Edition can be licensed in the following ways:
- Per domain name
- Note that server and organisation wide licensing is not available for cm3 Professional. Please upgrade to cm3 Enterprise if you have wide licensing requirements.
